Brief information about the Bauer Group

Since it was founded in 1930, the Bauer Group with its headquarters in Voitsberg, Styria, has focused on irrigation and slurry technology. In the beginning it was sewage and slurry pumps, but as early as 1947 the company gained international importance in irrigation technology for the first time with the patented Bauer lever lock coupling - named after the company's founder Rudolf Bauer. Today the company is increasingly developing in the direction of biotechnology (e.g. treatment of agricultural wastewater or biogas plants) and primarily deals with the three business areas: irrigation management, waste water management and energy management.

Bauer is the global technology leader in irrigation systems: a total of over 2.5 million hectares are irrigated worldwide. Another main source of sales is the liquid manure and environment sector with around 50% of total sales. Today the Bauer Group delivers to around 100 countries around the world. With around 675 employees, consolidated net sales of 135 million euros were achieved in the 2018/2019 financial year. The export quota is 90 percent. The main markets are Germany, France, the CEE region, China, USA, Australia and South America. In October 2016, a new production facility was put into operation in Brazil.

A total of 17 companies worldwide currently belong to the Bauer Group, including the well-known German brands BSA, Eckart, FAN and SGT.
